in the shadow of proud peaks piercing the heavens themselves, Salt Lake City has a lot going on. From the gay villages to the Latin communities, life, love, and culture courses through it like lifeblood to the otherwise theocratic state.

It's all turned on its head by The Shattering, a physically impossible earthquake powered by magic that alters the very foundation of physics as we know it. Beck, a queer exmormon engineer, and Hyrum, a deeply scarred Mormon, grapple with the implications of physically manifested metaphysical claims along with their shattered homes and communities, turning faith, science, even gender, inside out.
